Punta Cana, Dominican RepublicPunta Cana International Airport has officially welcomed the return of Air France this week, as the airline operated its first direct flight from Paris, France, reestablishing an important air bridge between Europe and the Dominican Republic’s leading tourist destination.

The landing marks Air France’s renewed presence in the country and represents a significant step forward for tourism in the eastern region of the Dominican Republic. By restoring nonstop service with Paris, Punta Cana strengthens its direct connection to the French market, long considered one of the most valuable and high-spending segments for Dominican tourism.

According to flight details, the route will operate as a seasonal service from January 13 through March 28, 2026, offering three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The service connects Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) directly with Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), providing French and European travelers with easier access to the Caribbean destination during peak winter travel months.

Tourism and aviation stakeholders view the return of Air France as a strategic win for Punta Cana, reinforcing its role as the primary gateway for international visitors to the Dominican Republic. The added European connectivity not only supports hotel occupancy and local businesses but also strengthens Punta Cana’s position within the broader European travel and tourism network.

With continued growth in international routes and renewed interest from major global airlines, Punta Cana further cements its reputation as one of the most connected and sought-after tourist destinations in the Caribbean.
