BÁVARO, PUNTA CANA. — Rescue Group has announced the appointment of Dr. Luis Eduardo Redondo Abreu as its new Corporate Medical Director, a leadership role in which he will oversee the strengthening of healthcare quality standards and the coordination of medical services across the network’s healthcare facilities.

Dr. Redondo Abreu brings extensive academic and professional experience to the position. He earned his medical degree from the Pontifical Catholic University Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and later completed specialized training in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at prestigious medical institutions in Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre, Brazil.

According to the organization, his international training has contributed to the development of a strategic approach focused on enhancing clinical protocols, patient safety, and the delivery of consistent, high-quality healthcare services throughout the network.

The physician has been part of the Rescue Group organization for nearly two decades. His career within the institution began at Centro Médico Bournigal in Puerto Plata, where he steadily assumed positions of increasing responsibility in medical management and health tourism. Throughout that time, he also maintained an active role on the group’s Board of Directors.

In his new role, Dr. Redondo Abreu will lead initiatives aimed at further strengthening Rescue Group’s patient-centered care model, with an emphasis on quality, innovation, and personalized attention—core values that have guided the organization’s growth over the years.

Founded in 1973 with the creation of Centro Médico Bournigal, Rescue Group has evolved into one of the Caribbean’s leading healthcare networks and a key provider of medical services for both residents and tourists in the Dominican Republic.

Today, the network operates several healthcare facilities across the country, including Punta Cana Medical Center, Atendi Verón, Centro Médico Bournigal, the Ambulatory Consultation Center (CCA), and the Comprehensive Diagnostic Unit, among other specialized and emergency care centers. The appointment of Dr. Redondo Abreu comes as the organization continues to expand its healthcare services and reinforce its position as a leading medical provider in the region.
