Punta Cana tourism promotion received fresh attention as Ramón Antonio Ramírez, known as Manolito and mayor of the Verón Punta Cana Tourist Municipal District, met with representatives of the Discovering Travel platform to discuss new ideas for showcasing the Dominican Republic’s leading tourism destination to national and international audiences.

The meeting brought together Mayor Ramírez; Javier Sobrino, founder of Discovering Travel; Víctor Redondo, the project’s co-founder and audiovisual producer; and Wendy Gómez, the mayor’s wife. Discussions focused on how digital content, social media storytelling, and specialized tourism platforms can help strengthen the visibility of Verón-Punta Cana in key travel markets.

Discovering Travel representatives shared their vision for content that highlights the area’s natural attractions, hotel offerings, local experiences, and the broad range of activities available across Verón, Punta Cana, and nearby Bávaro. Their approach places particular value on audiovisual storytelling and online publishing to connect travelers with destinations before they book their trips.

During the conversation, participants emphasized the rapid growth of the Verón Punta Cana district and the importance of maintaining its competitive position within the Caribbean tourism market. Punta Cana remains one of the Dominican Republic’s most recognizable destinations, drawing visitors through its beaches, resorts, golf courses, entertainment options, and convenient international connectivity through Punta Cana International Airport.

Local officials and tourism stakeholders increasingly recognize that destination promotion now extends well beyond traditional advertising. Travelers often rely on videos, blogs, social platforms, and creator-led travel content when choosing where to stay, what to experience, and which areas to explore. Partnerships with tourism-focused digital platforms can therefore help showcase not only the region’s established resort offerings but also its culture, gastronomy, local businesses, and emerging attractions.

Mayor Ramírez thanked the Discovering Travel team for visiting the district and recognized the platform’s work in promoting destinations through its social media channels and blog. He reaffirmed the municipal government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen the image of Verón-Punta Cana and contribute to sustainable tourism development.

The mayor said the City Council remains open to working with organizations and professionals whose projects help communicate the destination’s strengths and support its continued growth. The meeting reflects a broader effort to position Verón-Punta Cana as a destination that combines world-class hospitality with authentic local experiences for visitors from the Dominican Republic and abroad.
