DIGESETT Conducts Bavaro Road Safety Operation

The Bavaro road safety operation led by the Dirección General de Seguridad de Tránsito y Transporte Terrestre (DIGESETT) resulted in 30 motorcycles and two cars being seized along the Boulevard Turístico del Este. A total of 31 fines were issued, and 15 drivers tested positive for alcohol, with two individuals detained.

According to DIGESETT, 260 vehicles were inspected during the operation, which focused on identifying high-risk drivers and enforcing traffic regulations in one of Punta Cana’s busiest zones. Authorities emphasized that such preventive actions are essential to improving road safety for both tourists and locals.

This Bavaro road safety operation aligns with broader regional efforts to reduce alcohol-related traffic incidents. Similar enforcement campaigns have been conducted in the past, particularly during peak hours and in zones with a history of traffic violations.
