Cap Cana Hotel Development Accelerates Toward 20,000 Rooms by 2029
Cap Cana hotel development is accelerating, with more than 50 tourism and real estate projects currently under construction, according to Fernando Hazoury, president of the board of directors of Cap Cana. These include nearly 9,000 rooms in various stages of completion, signaling a major economic and tourism boost for the region.

Hazoury estimates that at the current construction pace, Cap Cana could host between 18,000 and 20,000 operational rooms within 24 to 36 months. This projection suggests a rapid transformation, not only in lodging capacity but also in economic scale and visitor diversity.
The expansion extends beyond traditional hotels into luxury residential developments, broadening Cap Cana’s appeal to high-end buyers. A significant portion of these new units has already been sold, reflecting strong market demand and investor confidence in the region’s long-term potential.
This growth aligns with broader trends in Punta Cana’s real estate and tourism sectors, where demand for both vacation homes and high-end rentals continues to rise. Developers are responding with mixed-use projects that combine hospitality, residential living, and retail amenities.
