Verón Punta Cana 2026 Congress to Boost Firefighting Training
The Verón Punta Cana 2026 Congress will take place from September 10–12, focusing on improving firefighting techniques and emergency response. Hosted by the Verón Punta Cana Fire Department, the event is supported by the local government and will include technical workshops, international speakers, and hands-on training sessions.

Themed “Strengthening Capacities, Integrating Gender, and Transforming Fire Response,” the congress aims to enhance the skills of emergency responders in one of the country’s fastest-growing regions. Mayor Ramón Antonio Ramírez has emphasized the need for a modern, well-trained fire department to protect the area’s expanding population and tourism infrastructure.
Participants will include Panama’s Benemérito Fire Corps, led by General Director Colonel Víctor Raúl Álvarez Villalobos. Their presence will support knowledge exchange and strengthen regional cooperation in emergency response.
A cooperation agreement will be signed during the event to promote joint training programs, professional exchanges, institutional strengthening, and improved emergency systems. This agreement builds on previous collaborations, including the 2024 training pact between Verón Punta Cana and Panama.
Opening ceremonies will be held at the Verón Punta Cana Town Hall on September 10. The agenda includes lectures on fire systems, gas systems, passive barriers, and gender considerations during emergencies.
Practical training will continue on September 11 and 12. Topics will include elevator rescue operations and vehicle extrication techniques, both critical for responding to high-risk incidents in urban and tourist areas.
This congress reflects the Verón Punta Cana Fire Department’s commitment to becoming a more prepared, efficient, and professional institution. It also aligns with broader efforts to improve public safety in a region experiencing rapid residential and tourism-driven growth.
