Punta Cana Economic Forum to Tackle Development and Investment
The First Punta Cana Forum will center on Punta Cana economic development, infrastructure investment, and legal security as pillars of national growth. The closed-format event will take place on Tuesday, September 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Westin Puntacana Resort & Club. It will gather officials, legislators, judges, political leaders, and specialists to address key institutional and economic challenges in the Dominican Republic.

The opening panel, titled “Infrastructure and Investment: Engines of Dominican Economic Development,” will be moderated by journalist Nairobi Viloria. Panelists include Juan Ariel Jiménez, former Minister of Economy, Planning and Development; Jean Luis Rodríguez, Minister of Housing; Hostos Rizik, director of RD Vial; and Milagros De Camps Germán, former Deputy Minister of Environment.
The second session will explore “Legislation and Legal Security: Foundations for Investment and Development,” moderated by journalist Roberto Cavada. Participants include Yorlín Vásquez, a judge from the Supreme Court of Justice; Amaury Reyes, a judge from the Constitutional Court; and legislators Charles Noel Mariotti Paz and Carmen Ligia Barceló González.
A networking lunch is scheduled from noon, followed by the presentation of the book *Joven político* by Andrés Vander Horst at 3:00 p.m. The event will be led by Roberto Ángel Salcedo, Minister of Culture, in a conversation moderated by José Luis Taveras. Representing political organizations will be Omar Fernández, senator; Juan Garrigó, general secretary of the Modern Revolutionary Party; Gloria Reyes, Minister of Women; and Johnny Pujols, general secretary of the Dominican Liberation Party.
The First Punta Cana Forum aims to foster a plural discussion on the conditions necessary to promote economic growth, attract investment, and strengthen institutional frameworks.
