Participants attended six specialized courses: gender in emergencies, passive barriers, fire suppression systems, gas systems, vehicle rescue, and elevator rescue. These sessions aimed to enhance the technical capabilities of firefighting personnel in handling various emergency scenarios.
General Roberto Santos Méndez, director of the National Union of Firefighters (UNABOM), and Colonel Miguel Ángel Álvarez attended the closing ceremony. Also present were Deputy Minister of Women’s Affairs Providencia Matos and Magaly Gonzáles Jiménez, the gender officer for the Veron-Punta Cana municipality.
A delegation from Panama, led by Colonel Víctor Raúl Álvarez, director of the Benemérito Cuerpo de Bomberos, and Colonel Margarita Ducreux, participated in the event. The group included nine high-ranking officials from Panama’s fire service.
Their participation helped strengthen knowledge exchange and technical cooperation in emergency response and firefighter training. The congress concluded with a shared commitment to continue improving technical preparedness and promoting inclusive, coordinated emergency responses.
The recent Punta Cana Forum also emphasized regional collaboration in public safety and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the economic forum highlighted the importance of institutional coordination in crisis management.
