Punta Cana Forum Focuses on Dominican Republic Development

The inaugural Punta Cana Forum, organized by GALA Media Group, will take place on September 15, 2026, at The Westin Punta Cana. Themed *“The Country That Comes Next,”* the closed-door, invitation-only event will gather government officials, politicians, business leaders, and opinion makers to discuss the future of **Dominican Republic development**.

Two thematic panels will explore key aspects of national progress. The first, *“Infrastructure and Investment: Engines of Dominican Economic Development,”* will be moderated by journalist Nairobi Viloria. Panelists include Jean Luis Rodríguez, Minister of Housing; Hostos Rizik, Director General of RD Vial; Milagros De Camps Germán, Director of Sustainability at InterEnergy Group; and economist Richard Medina. The discussion will focus on sustaining growth, attracting investment, and building future-ready infrastructure.

The second panel, *“Legislation and Legal Security: Foundations for Investment and Development,”* will be led by journalist Roberto Cavada. Participants include Supreme Court Justice Yorlin Vázquez; Charles Mariotti Jr., PLD representative for the National District; Carmen Ligia Barceló González of Hato Mayor; and PRM representatives Liz Mieses and Roberto Genao. Also joining are Natanael Concepción from OPD-Funglode and other political figures. The session will examine pending reforms and the legal guarantees needed to strengthen trust and investment.

The event will close with the presentation of *Joven Político*, a book by Andrés Vander Horst, presented by Minister of Culture Roberto Ángel Salcedo. A panel moderated by José Luis Taveras will include Sen. Omar Fernández (Fuerza del Pueblo), PRM General Secretary Juan Garrigó, Minister of Women Gloria Reyes, and PLD General Secretary Johnny Pujols. The conversation will explore how emerging leaders are adapting to a political landscape shaped by social media, artificial intelligence, and non-traditional structures.
