AHRB acknowledges Catalonia Hotels & Resorts for 25 years of success in the Dominican Republic

La Romana.- The La Romana – Bayahibe Hotel Association (AHRB) held its traditional Christmas dinner at the Casa del Río restaurant, located in Altos de Chavón, at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, La Romana. This meeting brought together hotel directors, businessmen, and civil and military authorities to celebrate the year’s tourism achievements.

andrés Fernández, president of the AHRB, highlighted the work of all the members of the association for the exceptional performance of this 2023, emphasizing the high occupancy in the hotels of Destino La Romana throughout the year.

During the activity, the La Romana Bayahibe Hotel Association presented recognition to two outstanding companies in the global tourism sector, which have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the destination of La Romana.

In a special tribute to the history and significant contribution to the tourism development of the region, the AHRB honored Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, a Spanish hotel company that, 25 years ago, chose the Dominican Republic as its first destination on the American continent. The company has grown to have more than 1,700 rooms in the country, of which 680 are located in La Romana. In this context, the AHRB highlighted the successful trajectory of Catalonia Hotels & Resorts in La Romana, in the Dominican Republic and in the Caribbean.

On the other hand, he recognized the Inclusive Collection group, World of Hyatt, a hotel chain that has strengthened its presence in La Romana with a completely renewed offer and a new brand, contributing significantly to the region’s tourism portfolio. The AHRB showed its pride in the trust and support of this chain, congratulating them especially on the upcoming opening of the Sunscape Dominicus hotel.

fernández closed the night by expressing his gratitude to the Bayahibe Electric Company (CEB) for its support in holding the event, highlighting them as strategic allies for the tourism development of La Romana. He encouraged the members of the AHRB and their main allies to continue working together for the tourism progress of La Romana.
