Montecristi, RD.- With the presence of the main authorities of the province, the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, inaugurated the reconstruction of the Manzanillo Municipal Park, as part of the set of Infrastructure works that seek to promote tourism in the province.

The project was in charge of the Infrastructure Execution Committee in Tourist Areas (CEIZTUR) at a cost of RD$39,442,363.72.

Collado expressed that “with the delivery of this work, its interest in bringing tourism and recreation to every corner of the country is once again reaffirmed, generating jobs and improving the quality of life of its inhabitants.”

He said that turning an old claim of its residents into reality is part of the commitment of Mitur and the Government together with President Luis Abinader to develop Montecristi tourism with enormous tourism potential.

Its reconstruction was carried out in an intervention area of 5,500 square meters, within which 870 square meters of sidewalk and 285 linear meters of containers were made.

The work included the construction of a new gazebo with a modern and avant-garde design of 140 square meters, finished in concrete and wood.

In an area of 2,575 square meters of plaza, the new park has landscaping; lighting and urban equipment.

The storm drainage solution was integrated with complementary facilities to collect rainfall runoff water from the area.

Within the landscaping, plant species such as mahogany, roblillo, almácigo, guayacán and Bermuda grass were included.

This new work adds to the multiple investments that the Ministry of Tourism is making through CEIZTUR in different parts of the country, thus promoting internal tourism.
