Punta Cana. The Corales Puntacana Championship was nominated for “Best Marketing Initiative” and “Best Element of its Class”. The nominations were part of the 2023-2024 PGA TOUR Tournament Awards.
These awards spotlight innovative ideas from PGA TOUR tournaments and their positive impact on communities.
“PGA TOUR Tournament Awards” aims to applaud the exceptional efforts of the tournaments in the calendar.
Manuel Sajour, executive director of Grupo Puntacana and director of the Corales Puntacana Championship, expressed gratitude for these nominations. These recognitions emphasize their dedication to providing excellent experience and marketing strategies. He also thanked his team and supporters for their continuous efforts.
He added, “We’re elated to have two nominations. The Corales Puntacana Championship showcases the Dominican Republic to the world through golf tourism.”
Other nominations for “Best Marketing Initiative” included RBC Heritage, The Memorial Tournament Presented by Workday, Valero Texas Open, BMW Championship, and RBC Canadian Open.
The “Best in Class Element” category recognizes a service, event, place, campaign, program, activity, operational procedure, or any superior feature that other tournaments could use to enhance their own events.
The PGA TOUR and Puntacana Resort have confirmed the dates for the next Corales Puntacana Championship. It will take place from April 14-20, 2025, at the Corales golf course.
The Corales Puntacana Championship, granting 300 FedExCup points, will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel. The tournament garners 7.8 billion impressions internationally and domestically, reaching 7 million viewers in the US and 4 million in Europe.
