The Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, David Collado, who heads the country's delegation in the new edition of the International Tourism Fair, ITB Berlin 2024, held a meeting last Monday night at the already established roadshows, this being the 58th since they began, before some 260 representatives of travel agencies, tour operators, airlines and special guests from the sector.

Collado, once again presented to the Germans, the tourist offers and attractions of the Caribbean country and on his account, he indicated the following: “The Dominican Republic is betting on the diversity of tourism. It is gastronomic, religious, adventure, sports, cultural tourism and much more. As we continue to recover the German market, we strengthen our promotion throughout Europe.”
For the Dominican Republic, the German market is of utmost importance, since it occupies the #4 position in Europe and #9 in the world in annual tourist output, also remembering that in 2023 181,000 Germans will arrive to enjoy the quality and hospitality of the Dominican Republic, representing 14% of European tourists
On the first day of the fair's activities, the Ministry of Tourism reported that Minister Collado signed three agreements to renew the operations of three airlines.
to the Dominican Republic, being the first renewal signed with Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor, with which the Dominican Republic will continue to receive in 2024 daily flights to Punta Cana (PUJ), and two weekly flights to Santo Domingo (SDQ) and Puerto Silver (POP), for a total of 9 flights, all from Frankfurt.
Subsequently, it signed with Discover Airlines, strengthening the main routes from Frankfurt to Punta Cana, with a total of 5 weekly flights and in the same sense, it signed with Edelweiss, an airline specialized in trips to exotic destinations, maintaining 3 weekly flights to Puerto Plata. and Punta Cana from Zurich, Switzerland.
