Punta Cana Cultural Center to Open October 23

The Punta Cana Cultural Center will open its doors on October 23, fulfilling a 28-year vision by Frank Rainieri, co-founder of Grupo PUNTACANA. Located near Puntacana Village, the center is designed to anchor the region’s rapid growth in Dominican identity and offer a space for cultural immersion and education.

“Millions come through Punta Cana every year, but many leave without truly knowing the country,” Rainieri said during an interview on *El Sol de la Mañana*. “Here, we want to immerse them in Dominican history, customs, and art — so they leave saying, ‘I was in the Dominican Republic.’”

The Punta Cana Cultural Center will feature interactive exhibits on national history, traditional customs, and local art. It will also host educational programs for local youth. Rainieri emphasized the need for such a space in a region that has grown from 52 families to over 300,000 residents in just a few decades. “The population growth is massive,” he said, “and we need to support the new generations with cultural and educational resources.”

Schoolchildren from public schools will be transported to the center as part of an outreach initiative. Rainieri said he finds joy in seeing young people engage with their heritage. “As long as I’m able, I’ll keep creating,” he added, referring to his long-standing commitment to cultural and social projects in the region.

This new center joins other local cultural efforts, including the Museum Abreu and the upcoming release of Oscar Abreu’s collector’s edition “Top 100 Artists: ART GABANGI 2026”, reinforcing the area’s growing cultural footprint.
