More than 110 flights scheduled to land at Punta Cana International Airport in Canada this week

More than 110 flights scheduled to land at Punta Cana International Airport in Canada this week

Punta Cana, RD.- The Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) presents an avalanche in the arrival of international flights this week. Specifically, for this week from December 11 to 17, the PUJ will receive 579 international connections, 38 flights more than last week when it registered 541 arrivals.

According to weekly reports issued by the Eastern Airport CorporationFlights have been showing considerable increases since mid-November. The connections that are growing the most are those from Canada, the United States and South America.

Canada

From Canada, a large increase in flights is reported for this week, led by Toronto (YYZ) with 61 connections, including the 3 new flights of the airline Flair Airlines that began last week. Montreal (YUL) follows with 39, increases 2 connections this week; and from Quebec (YQB) there are now 9 connections.

Sunwing Air airlines operate; AirTransat, Air Canada and West Jet. In addition, direct flights continue from other cities such as Halifax, Vancouver; Edmonton, Ottawa, Calgary and Hamilton.

USA

The hasty arrival of winter and low temperatures in the northern hemisphere is causing interest and a great increase in flights to our sun and beach vacation destination, with New York (JFK) being the city in the United States with the most connections to Punta Cana. with 33, add 1 more; Miami (MIA) follows with 31; Atlanta (ATL) with 27 and Newark, NJ (EWR) with 14.

South America

South America also has a large number of connections, with Panama City (PTY) leading with 45 flights, Bogotá (BOG) rising to 21 and Medellín (MDE) maintaining 11 connections. Lima (LIM) increased its direct flights with Punta Cana to 21; Caracas (CCS) and Buenos Aires (EZE) maintain 2, and San Pablo (GRU), Guayaquil (GYE) and Quito (UIO) maintain 1 connection.

Europe

Europe also contributed to this increase in flights to Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), with 11 direct flights from Condor and Discover Airlines arriving from Frankfurd (FRA) in Germany. From London (LGW) connections increase to 5, 3 from British and 2 from TUI Airways, and from Manchester (MAN) the 3 weekly TUI Airways flights remain. Lot Polish continues with 3 direct flights from Warsaw and 1 from Prague, Czech Republic.

From Madrid (MAD), Spain there are 7 weekly flights, 2 from iW2Fly, 2 from iIberojet and 3 from Air Europa. Belgium returns to connect with 3 flights from Brussels (BRU) of TUIFly Belgium. From Amsterdam (AMS) in the Netherlands 1 flight by TUIFly Netherlands and 3 from Orly in Paris (ORY) by Air Caraibes
