Among the interventions on this historic road is the placement of a new pavement with concrete slabs, turning it into a single platform space between sidewalks and streets, to provide all users with safe movement; The pipes of the drinking water network and the connections were replaced, both to residences and businesses.

Sanitary drainage was also separated from storm drainage. Podotactile signs were incorporated on the pavement, which will safely guide disabled people and, due to the placement of paving stones, the temperature will be reduced on this street by 33 percent.

From the Revitalization and Architectural Adaptation of Museums Project, President Abinader and Minister Collado inaugurated the Santo Domingo Fortress Museum, also known as Fortaleza Ozama, where new and modern museographic contents were added.

The intervention that was carried out in this museum serves to revalue this glorious monument, where three types of work were carried out.

The first is the architectural qualification of its infrastructure, where new energy generation and climate adaptation systems were placed; second, the museum project of the Tower of Tribute, which highlights the role that this building has played in the different stages of the history of the Dominican Republic.

While the third is about the show of immersive experiences, which integrates a set of audiovisual and technological resources, distributed in three scenarios that cover the construction of the cultural, ethnic and landscape wealth that the country has, in an exaltation to the identity elements of Dominicanness.

The new proposal that the Santo Domingo Fortress will offer to the public will expand the hours of its museum offering for visitors, with a great impact on the Colonial City.

The Project Revitalization and Architectural Adaptation of the Museums aims to recover the four most emblematic museums of the Colonial City, which in addition to the Santo Domingo Fortress, are the Cathedral Museum, the Don Diego Colón Viceregal Palace or the Alcázar de Colón Museum and that of the Royal Houses.

During the event, President Abinader reaffirmed his Government's commitment to the rescue of the Colonial City of Santo Domingo and the enhancement of all the wealth it holds as World Heritage of Humanity.
