Punta Cana’s Larimar City & Resort will soon welcome two exquisite luxury hotels

Santo Domingo, DR. – Two new luxury hotels will be built in Larimar City & Resort, Punta Cana by the North American firm Sonesta Internacional Hotels and will be built by the Spanish company Clerhp by the end of 2025.

Sonesta International Hotels Corp. announced its plans to debut in the Dominican Republic with the Royal Sonesta and The James hotels.

The multinational company Spanish Clerhp confirmed this Monday that it signed an agreement with the American Sonesta International Hotels for the construction of two luxury hotels within the real estate development project Larimar City & Resort located in Punta Cana, in the east of the Dominican Republic.

The Royal Sonesta and James hotels will be the fourth and fifth Sonesta properties in the Caribbean, joining the all-inclusive Sonesta Maho Beach Resort and Sonesta Ocean Point Resort in St. Maarten and the Royal Sonesta San Juan in Puerto Rico. They will increase the offer in Punta Cana, establishing themselves in the development of tourism in the Dominican Republic.

Juan Andrés Romero, executive president of Clerhp, highlighted that Larimar City & Resort is a destination designed of innovation, quality of life and luxury that will offer a unique living experience and easy air access from the main markets in North America and Europe.

For his part, Brian Quinn, development director of Sonesta, said that the decision responds to their “strategic priority of increasing their presence in Latin America and the Caribbean and that to this end, they found in Larimar City the most suitable project for the expansion of the company. brand in the Caribbean market, especially among luxury travelers.

Two new luxury hotels will rise in Larimar City & Resort, Punta Cana, a project that will be located approximately 25 minutes from the Punta Cana airport and 15 minutes from the beaches of the Bávaro area.

It will have residences, entertainment venues, a shopping center, restaurants, a fitness center, a spa and a country club with an 18-hole golf course, an outdoor sports facility and a children-focused activity center. It will be the first city in Punta Cana with high-rise buildings up to 15 floors

The first phase of Larimar City & Resort is expected to be completed in late 2025 or early 2026.
