Santo Domingo.- The Superintendency of Electricity (SIE) announced that the Dominican Republic will host the XXIV annual meeting held by the Association of Energy Regulators of Ibero-America and the Caribbean -ARIAE-, in which they will discuss and trace the regulatory route towards the transition energy in the region.
The event will be held from December 11 to 15 in Punta Cana, and will be attended by experts in the energy sector, representatives of international organizations that work on the issue and senior government officials, who will participate in discussion panels, presentations, tables roundtables and conferences.
Within the framework of the event, the 1st ARIAE Business Forum will also be held, in which the industry will present energy production technologies and their integration into the electrical system as the main orientation, which will allow even more networking opportunities to be generated for its participants.
“The ARIAE annual meeting is a valuable networking instrument for the region because it exchanges experiences, shares knowledge, analyzes trends and potential challenges or threats around the energy sector. This allows countries to have legitimate sources of information for the design of more effective policies and plans on the subject,” said Andrés Astacio, electricity superintendent.
The official also considered that the choice of the country as the venue for this meeting allows it to position itself as a relevant actor in the issue in question and as a valuable partner for future collaborations between countries that benefit the national energy sector and economic sustainability.
The XXIV annual meeting of the ARIAE promises to address topics as relevant to the sector as the integration of renewable sources, efficiency, security, and of course, will seek the exchange of impressions regarding optimal practices in energy regulation, among others.
The organization of the event by the national energy authorities is aligned with the national strategy of promoting the Dominican Republic as an ideal conference destination in the region.
