The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC) and the Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences (ASCA) held the second Job Fair and Open House, with the participation of the Airport Department (DA) and 21 other entities in the sector and educational institutions, The second job fair in the aeronautical sector was held, in which several vacancies were made available to participants, as well as relevant information about the projects and works that are progressing.
The event, attended by hundreds of young people and more than seven offering companies linked to the aeronautical and airport sector, was held at the ASCA headquarters, located in Punta Caucedo.
In this second version, the DA offered the young people who came to the stand to submit their resumes the vacancies for Airport Agent and Protocol Assistant, accompanied by personalized explanations and a brochure on the role of the institution in airports, both international and domestic, and heliports, as well as initiatives such as the National Heliport Network.
The activity carried out within the framework of the commemorative activities of civil aviation week, had more than one hundred jobs available for which hundreds of young people could apply and whose applications will be evaluated by participating companies, including airports, airlines, entities financial institutions and providers services.
When participating in the opening of the event, the general director of the IDAC, Héctor Porcella, stated that the Jobs Fair and the Open House are a reflection of the notable growth that the Dominican aeronautical industry has registered under the incentives and support that the President Luis Abinader to tourism and civil aviation.
He explained that the new airlines with Dominican registration, together with the international operators that have established themselves in the country in the last three years, have generated a significant induced demand for technicians, support personnel and service employees, who in many cases will need an adequate level of specialized training.
The director of ASCA, Clara Fernández, also spoke on the topic of training, who highlighted the importance of the “Open House” or opening of the academy facilities to present to interested young people all the opportunities offered by the IDAC study center. to pursue a degree in aeronautical administration or other specialized areas.
Meanwhile, other vacancies offered by participating companies are cabin crew, aircraft maintenance, operations agents, operations supervisor, VIP customer service and ramp supervisor. Additionally, positions in the areas of finance, human resources, accounting and others.
Other participating companies were RAJET, Grupo Puntacana, Pilarte Cargo, Sky High, the transport company AVIAM, IASCA, Banco de Reservas, VIP Crew members, Academia Superior de Ciencias Aeronauticas (ASCA), Aerodom, Talleres Aeronáuticos del Caribe, CTC Logistics, Fundapec , Airport Department, ATS Air Port Teams Solution, ENALAS, Dominican Association of Air Traffic Controllers and IDAC itself.
Also participating were academies, colleges and specialized educational centers such as the National School of Airline Agents, American Dominican School, Perpetual Socorro School of the Dominican Air Force, Jiménez de los Santos Educational Center, Christian Baptist School, Children International, José Joaquín Pérez Night Lyceum , Maranatha Studies Center and San Miguel School.
The first jobs fair and open house was held last year in the same place with the presence of more than 20 companies or institutions from the sector and hundreds of young people interested in entering the world of civil aviation.
