Punta Cana Prepares to Host Summit of the Americas with Focus on Dialogue and Investment

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic – Final preparations are underway for the upcoming Summit of the Americas in Punta Cana, which is expected to welcome between 6,000 and 8,000 participants from across the hemisphere. The gathering is poised to become one of the most significant diplomatic and economic events ever hosted in the Dominican Republic.

Business Forum Prioritizes Investment Opportunities

The Dominican Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of the summit’s business forum, describing it as a strategic platform to attract new investment in energy, infrastructure, and tourism—three key growth areas for Latin America and the Caribbean.

“Real dialogue between entrepreneurs and political leaders is essential to unlock the economic potential of our region,” he stated.

Invitations have already been extended to heads of state, youth leaders, civil society organizations, and more than 1,400 international business executives, underscoring the summit’s role as a bridge between policy and private enterprise.

Dominican Republic’s Global Vision

In addition to fostering investment, the Foreign Minister reiterated President Luis Abinader’s vision of deeper global reform, particularly within the United Nations. Among his proposals is the historic call for a Latin American woman to serve as UN Secretary-General, marking a significant step in the push for gender balance and regional representation on the global stage.

Punta Cana: A World-Class Host Destination

The decision to host the Summit in Punta Cana further reinforces the region’s standing as a world-class destination for international summits, conferences, and high-level investment forums. Known for its hospitality infrastructure and global air connectivity, Punta Cana is increasingly positioning itself as the Caribbean’s premier hub for diplomacy, business, and sustainable development dialogue.

With diverse stakeholders gathering around a shared agenda, the Summit of the Americas in Punta Cana is set to become a milestone in promoting regional cooperation, economic opportunity, and global leadership for the Dominican Republic.
