The tourist entrepreneur Rafael -Papo- Blanco Canto, indicated that the expectations for the tourism sector in this year 2024 are extraordinary. “We are based on a natural promotion that the country has had worldwide. We are the number 1 destination in terms of growth in 2023. That will actually mean greater growth in future years, not just in 2024.
“I see the future of the Dominican Republic and tourism as promising,” he emphasized.
Blanco Canto specified that the level of investment that is being made in the country, in destinations such as Punta Cana, Bayahibe, Cottage (which is a mature destination), miches, Flints, Puerto Plata (with Punta Bergantín) and others, supports growth and will ensure that the DR has greater attractiveness as a tourist destination.
In addition, he said that very innovative niches are being exploited such as sports, health and retirees.
