THEMAG Awards 2024 Presented to Top Tourism Destinations in Eastern Dominican Republic

Within the framework of a great gala, the THEMAG AWARDS 2024 were presented, an award that recognizes the work of people and companies in the tourism and hospitality industry in the Eastern region of the Dominican Republic.

This second edition of the award, held in the theater of the Iberostar Grand Bávaro Resort hotel in Punta Cana, was chaired by the general directors of THEMAG Magazine, Betina Rey and Marcelo Ballester, accompanied by David Llibre, president of the National Association of Hotels and Tourism (Asonahores); Ernesto Veloz, president of the Eastern Hotels Association (ASOLESTE), as well as Ana García Sotoca and Andrés Fernández, of the Romana-Bayahibe Hotels Association (AHRB).

THEMAG Awards 2024 rewarded the most successful experiences and best practices in tourism in the country through 15 categories related to the sector, whose selection was made by shortlists and the voting was defined in a transparent and open manner. where actors and professionals from the tourism and hospitality segment selected their favorites.

Betina Rey, General Director of the Network Plus Media Group, highlighted that “these awards represent individual achievements and the reflection of a collective commitment to excellence and innovation. Today we celebrate that our region stands out in the tourism panorama, together building exceptional destinations and indelible memories for those who visit us.”

He emphasized that “THEMAG Awards is a reminder that together we can achieve great things and continue positioning the Eastern Region of the Dominican Republic as a world-class tourist destination.”

Winners of THEMAG AWARDS 2024.

The winners of this second edition of the THEMAG AWARDS were Hyatt Ziva and Zilara at Cap Cana in the category “Innovative proposal in the hotel sector”; Hilton La Romana All Inclusive Resort as “Original proposal in A&B, gastronomy and bars in hospitality”; Cap Cana Foundation in the area of ​​“Sustainability in companies”; Grupo Puntacana Foundation as “Companies that stand out for their corporate social commitment”; and Playa Hotels & Resorts in the category of “Companies with greater expansion and diversification”.

As “Investment Sector that has provided the most contributions to tourism development” the Reserve Bank was awarded for the second consecutive year; in “Outstanding Comprehensive Tourist Attraction” the award went to Scape Park at Cap Cana; and Amstar DMC took the award in the category “Experts in local receptive services with greater development and permanence”.

The Destination City Cap Cana was the winner in the “Most complete real estate development” category; and Corales Golf Course as “Most attractive and challenging golf course.”

In this 2024 edition, new categories were incorporated, highlighting Noah Restaurante Bávaro as “Best Non-Hotel Restaurant”; The Larimar Spa at Hyatt Cap Cana in “Best Spa”; Dreams Flora Resorts & Spa as the “Best Hotel Opening of 2023”; Meliá Caribe Beach Punta Cana winner in the “Best MICE Proposal” category; and “Best Night Show” was awarded to The Blind Butcher by Hyatt Cap Cana.

Within the framework of the event, special recognition was given to the career of businessman Frank Rainieri Marranzini, for being the visionary creator of the Punta Cana destination, being received by Giovanni Rainieri.
