PUNTA CANA – Officials from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) have refuted recent claims by the Dominican Association of Tourist Transporters alleging a steep increase in parking fees. Airport sources clarified Thursday that no “abusive” changes have been made to parking tariffs for transport operators.
According to airport representatives, parking remains free for authorized transporters, despite a recent adjustment in the complimentary parking duration.
“The only change was a 30-minute reduction in the courtesy period that has been in place for years,” the source stated. “Even with this adjustment, free parking is still offered—something that’s increasingly rare at international airports.”
The clarification comes in response to public complaints from transport associations, who argued that the policy change would impact service operations. Airport management emphasized that the policy remains one of the most generous in the region, highlighting their ongoing support for the tourism transport sector.
