PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic — The Rotary Club Punta Cana Bávaro, in collaboration with Mixology Bar Lab, has announced the launch of a major humanitarian campaign titled “United for Venezuela.” The initiative is designed to mobilize the local community to provide relief for thousands of families struggling in the aftermath of the catastrophic earthquake that recently struck Venezuela.

The collection drive is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, June 25, through Friday, June 27. Organizers have established a central collection point at the Mixology Bar Lab facilities, located adjacent to Coco Bongo in Downtown Punta Cana. The center will be open for donations between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.

Essential Items Requested

The humanitarian mission is focused on gathering high-priority supplies to address the most urgent needs on the ground. Organizers are calling on residents, business owners, and visitors in the Punta Cana region to contribute the following essential items:

  • Nutritional Supplies: Bottled water, non-perishable food items, and nutritional formulas for both infants and adults.
  • Hygiene and Care: Personal hygiene products, as well as disposable diapers for children and the elderly.
  • Shelter and Comfort: Clean sheets and clothing in good condition.
  • Emergency Tools: Flashlights, candles, and primary first-aid supplies.

Rapid Logistics and Deployment

To ensure that the aid reaches those in need as quickly as possible, the Rotary Club has coordinated a rapid logistics plan. All donated goods will be transported to Santo Domingo, from where they are scheduled to depart by sea on the morning of June 28, bound directly for Venezuela.

Local residents interested in contributing or seeking more information about the logistics of the drive are encouraged to contact the coordination team directly. Representatives Alex Sanchez (829-570-6093), Manuel R. (809-495-4832), and Sugel Bonilla (829-887-1006) are available to facilitate large donations or answer community inquiries.

A Community United in Solidarity

The “United for Venezuela” campaign underscores the Rotary Club’s commitment to international service and emergency response. By leveraging the strong sense of community in the Punta Cana and Bávaro areas, organizers hope to provide a significant lifeline to those facing one of the most severe natural disasters in the region’s recent history.

“In times of crisis, our community has always shown incredible resilience and generosity,” the organization noted. This effort aims to channel that spirit into a cohesive response to the unfolding humanitarian emergency, providing critical support to displaced families and vulnerable populations in Venezuela.
