The Veron Punta Cana earthquake drill took place on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., as part of a national seismic preparedness initiative. Municipal staff followed evacuation routes and applied emergency protocols under the supervision of Mayor Ramón Antonio Ramírez “Manolito.”

The drill aimed to evaluate response time, internal coordination, and staff readiness in case of an actual earthquake. According to the municipality, the exercise also reinforced prevention measures and improved emergency procedures.

More than 56 institutions in the Veron-Punta Cana area participated in the drill, showing increased institutional commitment to disaster preparedness. The simulation was coordinated nationally to strengthen readiness across public and private sectors as previously reported.

This drill follows a recent earthquake alert test in Punta Cana, highlighting the region’s focus on early warning systems and public safety ahead of the simulation.
