The collaboration includes the use of a community center in Altos de Friusa, La Altagracia province, donated by the Puntacana Foundation. The facility will host educational workshops, sports activities, and psychological and social support services for at-risk youth.
Both institutions emphasized that protecting minors in vulnerable conditions is a shared responsibility between the state, private sector, and civil society. The program aligns with broader efforts to strengthen social resilience in one of the country’s top tourist destinations.
This initiative follows recent emergency drills and institutional coordination exercises aimed at improving local preparedness and community development. Earthquake response drills have been conducted across the region to test coordination between public and private entities.
