Flights will operate from Toronto to Acapulco, Winnipeg to Puerto Plata, and Montreal to Cozumel. The Winnipeg-Puerto Plata route adds more access for Canadian travelers to the Dominican Republic’s north coast, where airlift has grown in recent years [FALTA: cifra].
Sunwing has long provided winter service from Canadian cities to key Caribbean and Mexican destinations. The company previously expanded its Dominican Republic offerings with new options in Samaná, while keeping Puerto Plata as a seasonal destination.
Mexico destinations featured in the program include Hotel Xcaret Mexico, Hotel Xcaret Arte, and TRS Coral Hotel. All-inclusive resorts in Puerto Plata and Montego Bay remain part of Sunwing’s winter packages.
The Winter 2026–2027 schedule runs through April 30, 2027. This expansion aligns with Sunwing’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the Caribbean and Mexico while maintaining service to popular destinations like Punta Cana and Cancun.
Punta Cana Airport recently won awards for service and accessibility, reinforcing its position as a major Caribbean entry point.
