accesibilidad aeropuerto Punta Cana - Punta Cana Airport receives international accreditation for accessibility

Punta Cana Airport accessibility accreditation from Airports Council International World (ACI World) marks a milestone as the first Level 1 recognition in the Caribbean for inclusive travel standards. The accreditation aligns with guidelines from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, an ACI World resolution adopted in 2019, and global airport accessibility best practices [1].

Airport officials said the recognition reflects implemented strategies, policies, and early initiatives focused on improving accessibility, comfort, independence, and safety for all travelers, including those with reduced mobility.

The award was presented during a ceremony where Punta Cana Airport also received the Best Airport in Latin America and the Caribbean distinction in the 5 million to 15 million passenger category. This marks the ninth time the airport has won in that category [2].

In addition, the airport retained its Level 3 Customer Experience Accreditation for the second consecutive year, acknowledging its ongoing efforts to enhance passenger satisfaction and operational standards.
