The test will use Cell Broadcast technology, which sends alerts directly to mobile devices without requiring users to download an app or opt in.

Some residents may receive a test message accompanied by a unique sound. Authorities emphasized that these notifications are part of the exercise and do not indicate real danger.

The drill, coordinated by the Emergency Operations Center (COE), aims to assess emergency response mechanisms and improve public preparedness for earthquakes.

Hotels, schools, businesses, and local communities in the Punta Cana area are encouraged to review evacuation protocols and participate in the practice exercise.

Authorities advised residents to remain calm, pay attention to official communications, and treat any related alerts as part of the national drill.
