Foundation Delivers 500 Chairs to 12 Churches in Higüey

The Fundación Mi Milagro Isanely delivered 500 plastic chairs to 12 churches in Higüey on Friday, marking the first phase of a social program the organization has been running across La Altagracia province, according to Bávaro Digital.

The distribution took place at the Iglesia Jesucristo Rey de la Familia, with pastors and representatives from the beneficiary congregations in attendance.

Wendy Gómez, president of the foundation, said the delivery represents a starting point for Higüey. “On this occasion we delivered 500 chairs to be distributed among 12 churches. This is a beginning in Higüey, but we want to expand the program to reach more churches in the area,” Gómez stated, according to the local outlet.

The initiative had already reached churches and community organizations in Verón, La Ceiba, Bávaro, Macao and Jobo Dulce — several of them within the Punta Cana-Bávaro corridor. Gómez said expansion plans include communities such as Yuma, Boca de Yuma, Nisibón and La Otra Banda.

The program aims to reduce material limitations that congregations face when organizing evangelistic campaigns, community gatherings and family-oriented activities. Gómez noted that churches benefiting from this first round will continue to receive support as the foundation incorporates new congregations into future deliveries.

Pastor Sandy Ureña, the foundation’s primary liaison for this program, called the delivery a “powerful blessing” for the congregations. He said he will continue facilitating the inclusion of new churches in upcoming rounds.

Pastor Hochi, who hosted the event, noted that congregations carry out work that extends beyond the spiritual sphere and reaches families and communities directly. “In the end we are one, and this blessing they have given us today allows us to continue the work we do in each of our sectors,” he said, according to Bávaro Digital.

The chair distribution is one of 12 social programs run by Fundación Mi Milagro Isanely, which also supports institutions needing resources for talks, workshops and activities of collective benefit.

The foundation confirmed the program will continue progressively to reach more churches and institutions across La Altagracia and, subsequently, other areas of the country.
