Punta Cana Airport Terminal A check-in operations partially resumed on July 15 as Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) continues improvement work at the facility. The phased reopening allows a group of international airlines to return their passenger check-in services to Terminal A while airport authorities maintain operational continuity across both terminals.
According to PUJ, the airlines resuming check-in at Terminal A are Air Canada, Air Transat, Air Caraïbes, Allegiant, Avianca, Breeze Airways, Discover Airlines, Flair Airlines, Iberojet Spain, Iberojet Portugal, JetSMART, LIAT Air, LOT Polish Airlines, Neos, Rutaca, Sky Cana, Sky High Aviation Services, Sun Country Airlines, Sunrise Airways, TUI Airways, Turpial Airlines, WestJet, Wingo, and World2Fly.
The partial resumption is part of an ongoing process to improve Terminal A facilities while preserving a smooth passenger experience for travelers arriving in or departing from Punta Cana. Punta Cana International Airport is one of the Dominican Republic’s principal air gateways and a key connection point for visitors traveling to Bávaro, Cap Cana, Punta Cana Village, Uvero Alto, Macao, and other destinations across La Altagracia province.
Meanwhile, JetBlue, Frontier, LATAM Peru, Aeromexico, Sky Airline Peru, and GlobalX will continue to process passenger check-in at Terminal B. Airport officials said the distribution of airlines between the two terminals follows the established schedule designed to maintain operational efficiency and reduce disruption during the Terminal A upgrade process.
Travelers flying from PUJ are advised to confirm their assigned terminal directly with their airline before leaving for the airport. Terminal assignments may be especially important for passengers traveling during busy periods, as check-in procedures, airline counters, and passenger flows are being managed across both Terminal A and Terminal B.
