PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic — Punta Cana is expected to experience predominantly stable weather conditions this Sunday as a high-pressure system continues to influence the eastern Dominican Republic, according to the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET).
The forecast calls for partly cloudy to occasionally mostly cloudy skies across La Altagracia Province, although the probability of significant rainfall remains low. Any brief, isolated shower activity is expected to be limited and unlikely to disrupt tourism operations, beach visits, or outdoor activities throughout the destination.
Temperatures will remain high, with daytime maximums forecast between 31°C and 33°C (88°F to 91°F). Overnight and early-morning temperatures are expected to range from 25°C to 27°C (77°F to 81°F). Elevated humidity levels will make conditions feel warmer than the recorded air temperature, particularly during the midday and early-afternoon hours.
INDOMET recommends that residents and visitors remain well hydrated, wear lightweight and light-colored clothing, use sunscreen, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. These precautions are especially important for children, older adults, and individuals sensitive to heat.
Marine conditions along Punta Cana’s coastline are expected to remain generally favorable. However, authorities advise swimmers, boat operators, and those planning water-based excursions to review official marine bulletins before heading offshore, as sea conditions can change depending on wind and wave activity.
