“It is thought, said and felt that, as the Punta Cana International Airport is doing, so is our country’s tourism. The airport continues to innovate and take the right steps to continue breaking records. SKYhigh Dominicana continues to innovate, undertake and connect our country with the United States,” said Minister of Tourism, David Collado.
Likewise, he added that the country will soon reach eight million tourists by air and more than two million visitors by cruise ship; and, according to forecasts for the end of December, the country will reach 10 million visitors.
For her part, Cesarina Beauchamp, vice president of SKYhigh Dominicana, said that “this flight route reaffirms our commitment to continue connecting the Dominican Republic with North America, South America, Central America and the rest of the Caribbean.”
The flights will be carried out on Embraer 190 aircraft, with a capacity of 97 passengers, 9 in business class and 88 in tourist class. The flights will depart from the city of Miami at 8:00 in the morning, arriving in Punta Cana at 11:20 in the morning and returning at 1:00 in the afternoon, arriving at Miami International Airport (MIA) at 2:20 in the afternoon (winter time).
“This strategic alliance responds to our mission to continue being the airport with the most air traffic in the Dominican Republic, receiving 69% of the tourists who arrive in our country,” said Giovanni Rainieri, director of Airside Operations at the Punta Cana International Airport.
This is the latest addition to SKYhigh Dominicana’s international flight network, following the recently launched services to the city of Providence and Rhode Island, as part of the airline’s expansion plan.
