ZIPAQUIRÁ, COLOMBIA — In a ceremony that blended historical remembrance with municipal diplomacy, Zipaquirá marked the 209th anniversary of the Mártires Zipaquireños (Zipaquirá Martyrs), honoring their sacrifice and legacy.

The event featured a prominent delegation from the Dominican Republic, including Ramón “Manolito” Ramírez, mayor of Verón–Punta Cana, and Monsignor Jesús Castro Marte, a respected ecclesiastical figure. Their participation underscored the strengthening of cultural and institutional ties between Zipaquirá and the Dominican coastal region of Punta Cana.

The commemoration served not only as a tribute to national heroes but also as a platform for international cultural exchange, setting the stage for future collaboration between the two cities.
