PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic — Residents and visitors in Punta Cana can expect another hot and humid day on Wednesday as the presence of Saharan dust continues to influence weather conditions across the eastern region of the country.

According to local forecasts, temperatures will range from a low of approximately 25°C (77°F) to a high near 29°C (84°F). However, elevated humidity levels are expected to push the heat index above 30°C (86°F), creating warmer-feeling conditions throughout the day.

Meteorologists anticipate a mix of clouds and sunshine, with mostly cloudy skies dominating the morning hours. During the afternoon, periods of sunshine are expected to develop, although isolated showers and brief thunderstorms remain possible in some areas along the eastern coastline.

Light to moderate winds from the east and northeast are forecast to provide some relief from the heat, helping to improve comfort levels despite the persistent humidity.

Marine conditions are expected to remain favorable, with sea temperatures hovering around 28°C (82°F), supporting beach activities, swimming, and other recreational water sports popular throughout the Punta Cana and Bávaro areas.

The ongoing presence of Saharan dust over the Caribbean continues to contribute to hazy skies and above-average temperatures, a common weather pattern during the summer months. While the dust can suppress widespread rainfall, local weather authorities recommend staying hydrated and limiting prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours.

Overall, Punta Cana is expected to experience typical tropical summer weather, combining warm temperatures, occasional cloud cover, and brief localized showers as the region enters another active season for Caribbean weather patterns.
