PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic — The Dominican Society of Cardiology (SODOCARDIO) has announced that the 31st National Congress of Cardiology will be held from June 17 to 20, 2027, at the Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana Convention Center, bringing together leading cardiovascular specialists from the Dominican Republic and abroad.
The annual medical gathering is expected to attract hundreds of healthcare professionals and researchers, including at least 15 internationally recognized experts, who will participate in a comprehensive scientific program featuring more than 106 lectures and presentations focused on the latest developments in cardiovascular medicine.
Organizers said the congress will cover a broad range of topics, including heart failure, arterial hypertension, electrophysiology, cardiac imaging, preventive cardiology, and advances in patient care.
A key highlight of the event will be the simultaneous staging of the Third Cardio-Oncology Congress of the Inter-American Society of Cardiology, a regional forum that is expected to draw more than 300 medical professionals from across Latin America. The initiative aims to strengthen international collaboration and encourage the exchange of scientific knowledge among specialists in cardiovascular health and oncology.
The 2027 congress will also explore emerging trends in medicine, including the application of artificial intelligence in cardiology, innovative therapeutic approaches, precision medicine, and advances in cardiovascular metabolism. Organizers emphasized that the event will play an important role in continuing medical education and professional recertification efforts within the Dominican Republic.
SODOCARDIO noted that the congress will be coordinated by specialized scientific and logistical committees to ensure a high-level academic experience. The event will also receive support from healthcare institutions, medical organizations, and pharmaceutical industry partners.
By hosting one of the country’s most important medical conferences, Punta Cana continues to expand its role as a leading destination for international conventions, scientific meetings, and professional events, complementing its established reputation as a premier tourism destination in the Caribbean.
