Punta Cana Security Concerns Dominate Community Meeting
Punta Cana security concerns were the central topic at a recent meeting between community leaders and police officials in the Brisas de Punta Cana neighborhood. The Union of Neighborhood Councils of Polygon 1 organized the session to address ongoing safety issues affecting residents.

Representatives Altagracia Poueriet, Samuel Poueriet, and Isaac Martínez led the community delegation. Colonel Ramón Emilio Savino González, the newly assigned police commander for the area, and Major Carlos Calderón, head of the robbery division, attended alongside officials from the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM).
During the meeting, local leaders presented specific incidents they said were undermining the safety and tranquility of the area. The session also served to establish a direct communication channel between neighborhood councils and law enforcement for follow-up and coordinated action.
Police authorities reaffirmed their commitment to work closely with the communities. Residents emphasized the importance of maintaining open dialogue with security forces and urged other community leaders to stay engaged and report issues promptly.
