Ramírez noted that the recently renovated park, officially reopened this week, has seen unauthorized use at night, leading to damage and littering. The proposal would extend weekday hours until 6:00 or 7:00 PM and possibly until 8:00 or 9:00 PM on weekends.
Operational decisions require coordination with the park’s patronage board, led by the Catholic Church through Father Jorgen Robert Reyes Diroci. The aim is to balance public access with the preservation of the upgraded facilities for families, especially children.
The director emphasized that the space is designed for family recreation, not nightlife activities. “It’s a family park, not a place to drink,” he stated, reinforcing the need to protect the newly renovated site from misuse and deterioration.
The recent opening of a commercial office by CEPM in Punta Cana highlights growing administrative support for local infrastructure. Meanwhile, efforts to strengthen public safety in the region continue through international collaboration.
