Punta Cana, La Altagracia — Punta Cana is expected to experience hot and largely sunny conditions on Tuesday, with hazy skies linked to airborne dust particles and prevailing easterly winds, according to the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET).
Rainfall is expected to remain limited during the morning. However, cloud cover may increase during the afternoon and early evening, bringing isolated showers and possible thunderstorms to parts of the eastern Dominican Republic, including areas near La Altagracia.
INDOMET said the chance of afternoon precipitation is associated with daytime heating and moisture carried by easterly winds.
Temperatures are forecast to remain high, with daytime highs near 33°C and overnight lows ranging between 25°C and 26°C. Residents and visitors are advised to stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing and limit prolonged sun exposure during the hottest hours of the day.
Most outdoor activities, excursions and beach plans are expected to proceed under generally favorable conditions, although travelers and residents should remain alert for brief, passing showers later in the day.
INDOMET is also monitoring regional atmospheric conditions and said a trough is expected to increase moisture beginning Wednesday, potentially leading to more widespread rainfall across several provinces of the country.
