PUNTA CANA, La Altagracia — Punta Cana is expected to experience a predominantly hot and sunny Sunday, July 26, with intermittent cloud cover and the possibility of brief, light showers in some areas.
Warm conditions were already being felt early in the morning across the tourism corridor. Weather conditions are expected to remain generally favorable for most outdoor activities throughout the day, although short-lived showers typical of the season cannot be ruled out.
Temperatures in Punta Cana are forecast to reach between 30°C and 31°C during the hottest hours of the day, before easing to around 27°C overnight. Forecast models also indicate a mix of sun, clouds and isolated light rainfall, accompanied by prevailing easterly winds.
Heat to Be the Main Concern
While rain chances remain limited, the heat index is expected to be the day’s main factor, potentially making temperatures feel significantly higher because of the region’s elevated humidity levels, particularly across Punta Cana and Bávaro.
A very high ultraviolet index is also forecast around midday. Residents and visitors are advised to limit prolonged sun exposure, drink plenty of water and use adequate sun protection.
Overall, Punta Cana can expect a mostly hot Sunday with extended sunny periods, although passing showers may develop briefly in isolated locations.
